Parents, today your child heard the Bible story of Mary’s visit with Elizabeth. Elizabeth’s baby leapt for joy when Mary greeted her. Elizabeth and her baby knew that Mary’s child was the Son of God.
We open our Daily Bible Reading today, found on your One Conversation™ Page, to the book of John which opens with an introduction to John the Baptist who is preaching about who is coming after him.
“I don’t want to appear negative, but let us begin by admitting what we do not know about Mary. We know nothing of her parents, birth, or youth. We do not know her age when Jesus was born, what thoughts she may have had about Him as her Son grew into manhood. And, we do not know for certain when, where, and how she died. Having said all of this, exploring what the New Testament does tell us about her is still worthwhile. After all, Mary is the most noteworthy female in the entire New Testament.” Glenn McCoy delves deeper into “Mary, A Woman with God’s Favor” here: http://blog.lifeway.com/biblestudiesforlife/mary-a-woman-with-gods-favor/
