Parents, today your child learned about God’s promise to Abram. God was faithful to Abram even though Abram did not wait on God. God always has a plan even when people make wrong choices.
Our One Conversation™ page guides us with our Daily Bible Reading for the week. Today we read Exodus 24:7b. What a statement! Are you ready to be obedient in all the Lord has said? What a great challenge.
Abram was willing to follow God’s call on his life but didn’t fully listen when God said He would fulfill His through Sarai. Our Life Verse for this week reminds us ”If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15. How easy it is to want to take things into our own hands, but we need to remember that there is a plan at work that we can’t always see.
This week we have focused on the fact that God loves people enough to provide forgiveness for sin. Abram is the perfect example of God following through despite our own shortcomings. Dr. Calvin Wittman, in his sermon “Jesus, God the Son,” says, “ When we talk about it in reference to the work of Christ we are saying that God overcame sin through Christ’s obedience and death to restore believers to a right relationship with God.” Find it here: http://www.lifeway.com/Article/Foundations-faith-Jesus-God-the-Son
In our Daily Bible Reading today, found on our One Conversation™ page, we read Acts 5:42. “Every day in the temple complex, and in various homes, they continued teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” Now the early church has begun!

Our current Life Verse is John 14:15. Look for ways as a family to memorize this verse together. At dinner try saying the verse going around the table saying one word of the verse at a time. Round and round you go, see who knows it the best!
