When Marriage Is Questioned
The Point: Marriage is between one man and one woman for life.
Get Into the Study
Use the following information to introduce Question #1.
The Wedding Ideas website recently published a list of “110 Wedding Entertainment Ideas for 2019 That Will Wow Your Guests.” Promising to “wow” your wedding guests, the list includes ideas like these: fireworks, magician, live painter, dove release, butterfly release, croquet, bouncy castle, birds of prey (have an eagle swoop past the reception), casino, comedian, opera singers, clay pigeon shooting, or a fire breather.
Say: Couples do dream up interesting ideas in an attempt to make their wedding unique and memorable. Then call attention to Question #1 (What’s the funniest thing you’ve observed at a wedding?) and invite the group to respond.

Study the Bible
Use the following information to supplement Question #3.
Baptist Press recently reported that people in some states/cities can now choose a third gender on legal documents like driver’s licenses and birth certificates. People who believe they are neither male nor female can now choose “gender X” when they sign legal documents. The states/cities where this third gender option is legal include New York City, California, Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Washington State, and Washington D.C. Outside the U.S., these countries also allow a third gender choice on legal documents: Argentina, Bangladesh, Canada, Denmark, India, Malta, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan and Uruguay.
Say: This “gender X” option is just one way our culture challenges God’s distinct design of men and women. Then call attention to Question #3 (In what ways does our culture challenge God’s distinct design of men and women?). Invite the group to respond.
